Shifting Records second release comes from the hands of Computer Numerical Control and is directly inspired by the reading of Dante’s Inferno. This project engages electronic music of various kinds, trying to express the complexities and communicative depth of the greatest Italian Poet's language in a 36-tracks path (34 Cantos, plus intro and outro) first composed one to one, then splitted and finally rebuilt in a live session, taking account of the structure of the original poem.
Indeed, both the tracks and the outcoming session are built bearing in mind the structural and symbolic properties of the Commedia, from the studies about Christian, Pythagorean and cabalistic numerology to the analysis of the new language media, without sparing the essential component of expressivity.
